Irwindale, CA While some of the expected ontrack battles never occurred, the war between the regions in the American Race Truck Series continued Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway in Southern alifornia, with the Mountain State interlopers coming up with the victory.John Newhouse from Twin Falls, Idaho qualified 2nd and finished first, ahead of fellow potato state racer Nick Lynch and Barstow, CAs Robbie Brand.The televised race was run in front of an extremely enthusiastic crowd announced at 6135, which is a pretty good number for a Saturday night in Southern California on a holiday weekend.Polesitter Nick Lynch lost the lead at the start but by the time it showed lap two on the scoreboard he was back in front. Newhouse, Brand, Colt James and Deyon Young were in hot pursuit.
