The Nelcar Legends were back to the Unity Raceway this past weekend for the final points race for the Nelcar Legends Series. Evan had no shot at the title after missing the Oxford races this season, but he wanted a win to end out the season. In the one and only practice for the day, Evan was fast right off, just as he was the last time the series went to Unity. Im pumped for the race, we got a fast car, we got a shot at winning, Evan said prior to the race. The heat race would begin, and Evan drove from his eighth starting spot to fourth in the first two laps, until Evan felt a vibration in the car, and almost went off the track as he brought the 56 Hancock Lumber machine back into the pits. The bolts holding the driveshaft had loosened, and it wouldve been worse had Evan not bring the car in. With the help of great people like Rick, Bob, Terry and Ed, they got it fixed just before the feature. Evan started eighth again, and quickly made a bid to the front. While running with the 33 of Alan Smith for the fifth spot, he made contact with the left side of Evans car and send Evan off into the dirt off the backstretch, sending Evan for a spin. No caution came out and Evan quickly got back on track, but wasnt able to make up any ground, ending up a lap down in sixth. The season is now over and Evan finishes seventh in the final points.
