The IPL 500 Festival Parade, scheduled for Saturday, May 23 at noon in downtown Indianapolis, will once again feature a diverse lineup of brities. The 500 Festival announced today that Katie Stam, Mario Lopez, Melora Hardin, Mary Lynn Rajskub, The Ohio Players and artists Donald Lipski and Thomas Kinkade are the first celebrities and VIP’s to be scheduled to join in this year’s celebration. The celebrities will join Dick Vitale, the 2009 IPL 500 Festival Parade Grand Marshal.Indiana’s own Katie Stam is Miss America 2009. Since she was crowned in January, Stam has veled the country to speak to audiences about her personal platform, “Passion for Service: Promoting Community Service and Involvement.” She is the National Goodwill Ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network, and the Official Spokesperson for ZeroSmoke. Originally from Seymour, Ind., Stam is currently a senior communication major at the University of Indianapolis. She aspires to become a television news reporter and chor. Stam is Indiana’s first Miss America in the pageants 87 year history.
