It all began when three members of Bredon Jalopy Club happened to be discharging corn at MSF, Defford Mill. The three being Mac Taylor, Dave Collett and Eric Carlin with the usual moans and groans that sers seem to thrive on; it was agreed to try and form a club of their own to be named Evesham and District py Club.A meeting to this end was advertised in the local papers to be held at the Vauxhall Inn, Evesham on the second Friday of September 1968. The response was enormous and a unanimous vote was taken to form the Club.A meeting was called for the following month and some 160 members signed on.Later in 1968, officers were elected; rules made, equipment bought and preparations were made to race as a club in 1969. The Club applied to join Gloucester league and were accepted.
