Kapiti Car Club was founded in 1976 by a small group led by Peter Parnell, Cheryl and Shane Murland.is was as a result of the 70’s urban drift which saw a number of motorsport people moving from the City to enjoy the more tranquil Kapiti Coast.Apart from night trials and other social based motorsport, gravel rints quickly attracted popularity due mainly to the number of country roads in the surrounding area, Kapiti as now on the map as a progressive club led by enthusiastic people on a path to success.
